1st painting in the bloodworks series dealing with the darker side of obsession. Aerosol, copper & blood on canvas. ( alternate title for this was "raping the ghost of gustav klimt" which requires some explanation: whilst I am a great admirer of Klimts process I baulk at his appalling sexism & the negatve apogee of this must be lust murder as exemplified by the horrific injuries acted upon the black dahlia. Her gaze is accusatory toward not only toward her murderer but also those who would facilitate the low level objectification of women that results in violence. I in no way condone violence & this painting is the inability to be violent whilst possessing anger against those who could perpetrate this kind of damage. Do not expect it to be here for long )

The streets are our kingdom, the gutters our throne....
This is a series of guerilla showings of paintings by the goat of mendez taking place around the midlands in the UK
Since 2009 the goat has not shown work in any galleries & has been burning paintings or destroying them upon completion.
The works in this series are those that have managed to survive the "pruning" process. At secret locations the goat has been mounting work in abandoned & derelict sites as a means of allowing them to interract with the surroundings.
